What is it and where?
The Jesmond Community Hub, also known as the Jesmond Neighbourhood Centre, is located at 44 Mordue Parade, Jesmond. The hub is managed by ConnectAbility Australia and offers information to the local community about services and group activities that are designed to benefit individuals and the local community.
Types of Services at Jesmond Community Hub
The Jesmond Community Hub offers a wide variety of services to a range of different individuals. These include;
1. Information about Community Services
The Jesmond Community Hub can provide information about local community services such as mothers groups, education services, youth services as well as answer questions about disability support and aged care services.
2. Referrals to other government and support agencies
The Jesmond Community Hub can assist individuals by answering questions about government related issues as well as provide a referral for these types of services. Individuals can be referred to government organisations such as Centrelink, Medicare or FACS. They can also be referred to education providers like TAFE NSW and Department of Education to assist with support in learning new skills and furthering their education, and medical providers such as Headspace, Anglicare or Hunter New England Health.

The Jesmond Community Hub is also available for hire to groups of all sorts. This may include clubs and associations, seniors gathering as well as for special events such as birthdays or weddings. 5. Free office services
The Jesmond Community Hub offers free office services to individuals from low income backgrounds. These include free photocopying, faxing and printing.
6. Wallsend Community Garden
The Jesmond Community Hub actively supports the development and maintenance of the Wallsend Community Garden. Community gardens are designated places where community members come together to grow food, foster good health and support the growth of green urban environments.
