Finding Yellow, a long-standing disability service provider with almost 50 years’ experience, has announced that it is merging with ConnectAbility, a respected provider with over 33 years of experience delivering trusted quality disability and community services across the Newcastle and Hunter Regions.

The decision follows extensive research and strategic discussions to ensure the sustainability and growth of services for clients they support.

“From the outset, our priority has been to safeguard two critical areas: continuity of support for our clients and security for our staff,” said John Piper, CEO of Finding Yellow. “I’m pleased to share that all our support staff have been offered the opportunity to transition seamlessly to ConnectAbility with full entitlements and will continue supporting the same clients they know and trust.”

The merger will ensure both clients and staff have greater access to resources, expanded services, and enhanced opportunities.

David Carey, CEO of ConnectAbility, celebrated the shared values and community-driven history of both Finding Yellow and ConnectAbility, describing the partnership as a strong fit for the future.  “Like ConnectAbility, Finding Yellow was founded by a small group of local parents committed to improving care and support services for people with a disability. Finding Yellow and ConnectAbility share a strong vision of empowerment, inclusion, and community connection,” Mr Carey said.

Since 1992, ConnectAbility’s goal has been to help people with disabilities access support to feel more connected and independent. As a not-for-profit registered NDIS provider, they already offer a range of services including allied health, community and centre- based support programs, early intervention teaching, plan management, support coordination, supported independent living and youth services.

Over the coming months, Finding Yellow will be integrated into ConnectAbility and both teams’ number one focus is ensuring that staff and customers can expect the same trusted, high-quality services during the transition and beyond.

With both organisations sharing an unwavering commitment to empowering people to achieve, the future is even brighter for the Finding Yellow community.

“Together, we are building a stronger organisation that can meet the evolving needs of the people we serve while preserving the relationships and trust that matter most,” Mr Piper added.

We look forward to continuing the valued and respected legacy of Finding Yellow.
