The wellbeing of the people we support and our team are always priorities for us but even more so during this lockdown period. Telehealth and other innovative support techniques have allowed our team to continue supporting their clients, but we were also very aware of the need to support our team. They often go above and beyond to selflessly assist the children, teens and adults they support.

In discussions with our friends at Firstchance and Hunter Prelude, we discovered they too were keen on such an initiative. In collaboration, the three organisations developed a wellness challenge as the solution. The wellness challenge that we have devised involves teams from each of the organisations competing against one another in two different challenges.

We’re only halfway through the tournament, and the eight teams comprised of eighty participants have already achieved a combined total of over 10,000,000 steps.

The tasks are set through a special Facebook Group that we created for the challenge. This group has also allowed our teams to interact and get to know each other, which will only strengthen the bonds between the three organisations.
