You may know Supported Independent Living (SIL) under titles such as – Disability Accommodation or Group Homes. These were the terms used prior to the introduction of the NDIS. They all refer to accommodation where you are supported to live independently with staff either dropping in, are onsite for emergencies or where are located in the home 24/7
Our homes are in the communities where we live and work, and are tailored to your individual needs. Supported Independent Living (SIL) is an NDIS funded model of shared accommodation. It can mean living with one or more people that have similar personalities and needs and are supported by ConnectAbility staff across aspects of daily living.
There are a variety of models that are funded by the NDIS and ConnectAbility work with individuals, families and Coordinators of Support to help you to live in a home that is best suited to your needs. You may be looking at sharing with others or being on your own. You could be looking at apartments, villas or houses either in the centre of town or something more rural.
We can provide concierge models where in an apartment setting there is someone onsite to cover emergencies when your regular support provider is not rostered. ConnectAbility has a range of homes you may like to look at or can help source something specific to meet your needs.
