National Nutrition Week

Each year, our dietitians celebrate National Nutrition Week by getting behind the theme, which in 2025 is #ConnectedandNourished. This theme reminds us all that food is WAY more than just fuel for our bodies.

Especially for our kids, feeding is also much more than just eating. It is sharing meals with our families, it is sensory exploration, it is role modelling and bonding. In fact, for many of us it provides amazing opportunities for learning and development.

National Nutrition Week is an annual campaign championed by Nutrition Australia.

Whether you are at home with your family, or on a picnic rug at the park with your little ones, this year for national nutrition week we encourage you to celebrate the many ways that food nourishes and connects us, including:

*Enjoy eating together! Sharing meals benefits us physically but also socially and emotionally.

*Mealtimes matter – encourage conversation, connection, and food exploration at mealtimes.

*Grow or cook your meals – plant something, cook with your friends or family, and get your kids involved in the kitchen.

*Nourish the Moment – slow down, taste and enjoy each mouthful.
