Opening Hours: Mondays – Fridays, 10.00 AM – 3.00 PM
The Jesmond Community hub is based at Jesmond Neighbourhood Centre and we provide:
- Information about community services
- Referral to other government and non-government services
- Weekly programs in Jesmond
- Community Events and Workshops
- Hall Hire
- Free photocopying, printing and faxing for low income community members
- Needle and Syringe exchange program
- Wallsend Community Garden
The Jesmond Community Hub supports the participation and inclusion of members of our community such as migrants and refugee’s, Indigenous Australians, low income residents, women with children, seniors and teenagers. We do this through our annual schedule of weekly, monthly and annual programs. Everyone is welcome to attend our events and we encourage you to drop into Jesmond Neighbourhood Centre and find out what how you can be involved.
The Heartmoves exercise program is a low to moderate exercise program designed by the Heart Foundation and the Department of Health. Run by accredited exercise professionals, the classes are suitable for anyone who is not currently exercising or previously exercised. The class is also a great place for people to make new friends and work with others to get moving, and have fun exercising at their own level within a small group. Heartmoves is open to everyone and is designed to be safe for people with stable long term health conditions such as heart disease, diabetes or obesity.
The Heart Foundation’s Heartmoves name lets the public and health professional know that these exercise programs are low to moderate in intensity, have a specially trained and accredited leader, follow safety guidelines and encourage people to start slowly and work safely at their own pace
Mondays and Wednesdays: 2.15pm – 3.00pm
Bookings Required. Cost: $7.00 per class.
Classes held weekly, at The Jesmond Neighbourhood Centre.
